Did you know going to college is a privileged thing?
In recent years in the United States on average there are about 400,000 youth in the foster care system.
Of these youth, roughly 70% want to attend college and get a post secondary educational degree.
Yet due to unforeseen circumstances, traumas, and hardships, only about 3% are able to achieve this.
We wish all foster youth a brighter future through our lens.
Ideation
Front camera:
Future Students
Allows users to imagine the paths open to them through higher education
Graduates
Allows users to either celebrate their success or envision their goals
Allies & Supporters
Allows users to show that they are allies or supporters of foster care youth
Final Lens
Our lens consists of 3 front camera experiences and a back camera experience. Through the front camera, users are able to select from 3 options, Future Students, Graduates, and Allies and Supporters.
As for the back camera, it is an object-triggered call to action lens. Each of these experiences will help spread awareness and share information about the possibilities open to foster youth.
